Principal's Bio

    Ms. Bolden is a proud Houston native and educator with 16 years of experience across public, private, and charter schools, now entering her fourth year in HISD and her second year as the proud principal of Garcia Elementary School. She has taught various grade levels from Pre-K through 6th grade and has served as a Reading Interventionist, instructional coach, department chair, curriculum writer, and professional development/PLC leader.

Over the past six years, she has served as an Assistant Principal, Interim Principal, Summer School Principal, Principal Apprentice, and Principal. During her first year leading Garcia Elementary, she guided the campus through significant transformation. As she begins her second year, she is excited to continue building on that momentum and leading Garcia into the New Education System (NES) with a focus on excellence, innovation, and student success.

 Ms. Bolden is a creative, student-centered leader who believes that although transformation may begin with one person, it is sustained by the   strength of the team. Grounded in reflection, empathy, and continuous growth, she is committed to building strong relationships and systems that drive meaningful outcomes for students and staff.
